Today I noticed that #qbittorrent on my #RaspberryPi 5 inflates to taking 6-7 GB of #RAM in just a few hours after Pi or service restart. Wild.
Gets wilder - it started to use swap file which shortens the lifespan of rapidly expensifying NVME drive 🤦♂️.
Had do disable swap via
sudo swapoff -a
and also
sudo systemctl edit qbittorrent-nox
and put this into the service section of the file:
[Service]
MemoryMax=1500M
Restart=always
RestartSec=5
I wonder if some update is coming to fix this?...

Wach. Aufgewühlt. Kein Schlaf in Sicht. Heute ist ein Raspberry Pi angekommen. Erste Schritte damit gewagt. Mehrere BetriebsSysteme ausprobiert. Erstmal nur zum Schauen, ob und wie es funktioniert.
Fazit: Ein süßes kleines Stück Elektronik mit dem sich vieles anfangen lässt. Erst recht wenn mehrere BetriebsSysteme auf verschiedenen MicroSD-Karten bereit liegen können für diverse EinsatzZwecke.

Andererseits nervlich wieder in die Überforderung gerauscht. Gar nicht gut.
Hoffentlich lassen sich später Backups erstellen von fertig eingerichteten Systemen. Das nimmt eine Menge Druck raus dann weil langfristig erheblich weniger Aufwand.
Mal schauen wie intensiv mit dem Teil gearbeitet werden kann.

Bien, bien, bien. Je viens de lancer un
apt dist-upgrade sur le Raspberry Pi 1 qui fait tourner le Pi-hole qui protège les enfants de la pub et des contenus inappropriés, ainsi que le VPN qui permet de bénéficier du filtrage DNS même quand ils utilisent la connexion mobile sur leurs smartphones. Ça va à une vitesse qu’on qualifiera de "limitée"…Possible que je doive laisser ça tourner toute la nuit. En espérant ne pas avoir d’erreur, ou juste de prompt de confirmation.

This will certainly make me think twice about cheap knock offs. It’s also very good information on what to look for in an onboard usb interface (ground plane, termination), buck converter(minimum voltage), and what to avoid.

@techwitch I agree with @raineer . If you are able to host your Nextcloud at home, an encrypted backup to an external storage should be your choice. I run a nightly backup of database, Nextcloud directory and data directory with automysqlbackup and #borgbackup, which is mirrored to an external #raspberrypi connected with #wireguard.
