Anyone of you #Python #developers works with #dnspython? The documentation says there is a timeout field implemented. I am working with v2.8.0, and my interpreter complains that there is no argument called timeout. Same holds for the lifetime argument.

Solved it, by adding it to the Resolver.resolve() function. But I still expected it to be in the actual code.

Is this a bug, and the docs differ from the code?

On other hand, we have probably been lucky they didn’t know about #M4. #yaml #json #Python #Fortran

You can also model the repository interface with `typing.Protocol`, so any implementation (SQL, CSV, API, in-memory) just has to “duck type” to that contract:

pybit.es/articles/typing-proto

#python #cleancode #designpatterns #cleanarchitecture

I hate #yaml. Whoever invented it should be sentenced for human rights violations.

Standardizing comments for #json so all parsers and generators can use it would have been better.

#Python is bad enough for using indentation for structure, like #Fortran.

I found part 2 the most challenging in Q8. Part 3 was a bit brute force in my approach (duration 38 seconds on my laptop) and I assume there's a more elegant solution.
