I hadn’t signed into #Pinterest in over two years, but as I’m currently cleaning up digitally, I had to sign in. Turns out they (sell you data to) train #AI and the setting to "opt in" is opted in by default. If you have an account there and uploaded photos, your data is most likely already in some training set without your consent.

The trio didn’t just build websites; they built gateways. Their manifesto was simple: Writing for Web Accessibility wasn’t an afterthought—it was the foundation.
- Liam (The Content King): He believed that for each web page, one must provide a short title that describes the page content and distinguishes it from other pages. He was currently obsessing over the “Space Teddy Inc.” homepage, ensuring the page name came before the organization name.

Sarebbe forse necessario farlo vedere con un video quanto è terribile #Pinterest quando lagga... come qualsiasi cosa quando lagga, a dire il vero, ma il problema è che Pinterest è tipo l'unico affarino che in qualche modo lagga sempre... 🙄
Però, in realtà, per fortuna solo di narrazione, ma enorme mannaggia di utilizzo, lagga così tanto in certi momenti da essere percepibile anche solo con delle schermate statiche (...che sono in effetti cosa sono costretta a vedere per molti secondi in certi casi su 'sto coso.) 💥
Tipo, qui eccone due...
Innanzitutto, a volte impiega dei bei secondi a mostrare un pin dopo che lo si è cliccato, e lo scheletro della nuova pagina ha caricato, e addirittura qui aveva già mostrato il titolo, ma l'immagine si prende il suo tempo per apparire... e non è questione di connessione Internet, ma ancora una volta di ottimizzazione, perché va a caso indipendentemente dal peso dell'immagine, ma dipendentemente da quanto la pagina sembra scattosa in generale; è proprio il JavaScript client-side che gira da culo. 🥴
Poi, non pensiamo troppo allo scorrere le griglie di immagini... perché, se gli prende molto male, come nella seconda foto, praticamente a schermo sparisce anche lo scheletro delle celle, scorrendo... e, ancora una volta, non è un problema di connessione, perché qui ho fatto scrolling su una pagina che già si era caricata all'altezza che si nota dalla scrollbar. 😩
Per giunta, a volte fa pure una mistura strana, in cui magari mostra le celle scorrendo, ma sono grigie, anziché del colore approssimato dell'immagine come placeholder prima che carichi... e, ovviamente, i click sono lenti, è in generale tutto lento, uff... 🥀 Pignio questi difetti non li ha.

Ecco subito qui la prima bestemmia, dunque... che dovevo dire prima, ma non potevo iniziare bene il thread se già la mettevo in mezzo, quindi arriva solo dopo... scusate eh, purtroppo il notaggio con thread è adatto a me, ma con thread non smontabili mi da pur sempre alla testa...
Con appena una mezz'oretta di navigazione prima, corrispondente forse a due orette di tempo di scheda lasciata complessivamente aperta, seguendo mai più di una decina di link a catena, 'sto merdone di #Pinterest ha fatto il peggior leak di risorse che io abbia mai visto. 💔
Questa maledetta webapp — che credo sia fatta in React, ma non è quello il punto; il punto è che è stata creata da cepponi della Silicon Valley che evidentemente non sanno ottimizzare — gira sempre così male che ogni volta non ci posso credere...
Più la scheda sta aperta e viene usata, e tante immagini vengono viste, e più accumula memoria, più satura le risorse... e, in questo caso, non solo si rallenta lei stessa, quindi la app gira malissimo, ma mi stava rallentando abbastanza persino l'intero browser, che però nel frattempo non aveva nulla di pesante aperto (né altre app pesanti sul sistema operativo)... 👹
Cioè, ma può una schedina di un sito prendere 2 GB di RAM per mostrare qualche immaginetta in griglia, e non facendolo neanche bene, perché va tutto lento in culo, e i click impiegano sempre tempo a rispondere, e lo scorrimento va a scatti, e boh? 😭
...E poi mi chiedo per cosa usi percentuali di CPU addirittura tra il 200 e il 350% in un momento in cui la scheda è sì aperta, ma in background, perché in foreground al momento della cattura avevo su una finestra YouTube, e sull'altra il task manager di Firefox per guardare questa schermata... spero che non mi stiano minando Bitcoin, che 'sta roba non è normale. 💀
(E ah... non scusate per il flex di quanta poca RAM prendono invece le schede aperte in contemporanea di varie app che girano sui miei domini, principalmente Pignio... vabbè, scherzi a parte, era giusto per non fare la schermata troppo corta in verticale, e per offrire circa un confronto.)
