Hey #Laravel family

I'm researching the current state of the Laravel package ecosystem.

I put together a 3-minute, zero-sales survey to gather some data. I plan to publish the findings as a "State of Packages" article for everyone.

Would love your input!

Working with #Laravel today for real for the first time, so far I am loving it.
I see now why tons of developers use it for #SaaS projects (as I am now).

Looking forward to showing everyone what I am making!

As Phactor language server is now in it's 10th year, I thought it deserved some stickers. If you contribute or sponsor send a DM and I'll send you some #php

Did make breaking changes in custom commands? In 2.9, when I run "composer foo bar" I get "Too many arguments, expected arguments "project"—where "foo" is a custom command built with Symfony's SingleCommandApplication and "bar" is precisely the allegedly missing argument. Works fine again when I rollback to 2.8. Nothing obvious in release notes (github.com/composer/composer/r).
I don't want to spend this wonderful cold Sunday morning step debugging third-party code in a PHAR archive. 😕

I feel most programmers got accustomed to and proficient in a new language, database or framework because it was necessary in one of our jobs. Not because it got hyped in stackoverflow's survey or some youtube's tutorial series. That doesn't mean you can't just *learn* a language for the sake of it, you can learn it better if it suits the program you're trying to build and helps you write clean, refactorable and secure code.

Of course I speak for myself. Thoughts welcome.
