I am not a marketing guy at all but I feel it should be noted that #PHP is the only modern language which supports 2 URI specifications out of the box. No other poppular language do, Go, Python, Java, C# or Rust don't. Just saying that this is never highlighted in all the articles and blog post I see talking about the new URI extension. That and the fact that other part of the engine were updated like filter_var or the SOAP client to account for the new parsers 🤷

I’ve just realized this means I now have 15 years of #Perl experience 😲
I’ve started learning Perl for my first fulltime job after graduation beginning on 1 October 2010. We built a web page and database for scientific measurement data (https://halo-db.pa.op.dlr.de/). I had prior experience with #PHP as it was back then. The new job required me to learn Perl and I remember I had quickly ingested some Perl book (possibly the Camel book?) and fallen in love with this language: its beautiful expressiveness with flexible linguistic features; its versatility for one-liners on CLI, quick scripts for one-time jobs as well as huge well-structured applications 🥰
