This feels pretty wild, but I've added a PHP file into the static directory of my SvelteKit project. It builds to a static site, so the PHP will be the server side (for a simple contact form). Is this the future???

Think I solved this and wanted to share what I did--
First I reviewed my caching settings and made sure my install had all of the recommended php modules/settings enabled for good performance.
Then, I bit the bullet and upgraded my shared hosting plan. I'm with Namecheap, so I jumped up to the Stellar Plus plan which had unlimited SSD storage. Ultimately, I was looking for more room to do daily backups BUT the unexpected upside? 2GB of dedicated physical memory (ie RAM).
Namecheap doesn't really advertise this performance boost, so I'm kinda glad it worked out this way.
