The reason I'm not opening up registration to just anyone on my #PeerTube instance, (aside from storage restrictions), is because I want to see people put more intentionality into their videos.
I want to give the kind of space to people who write their videos ahead of time, create thumbnails, and care about creating a community.

I was watching someones #PeerTube video where I was going to try to give some helpful encouragement with someones struggles when I thought I should check out the rest of their videos before I did. Just in case there was a larger context that I was missing.
Smartest thing I'd done all day.
Let's just say this person was a level of disturbed that made me think "Oh my, I hope they are getting help." just from reading their bio.
So I just gave it a 👍.

Ik vind het zo goed dat Beeld en Geluid het archief niet overgeleverd heeft aan Youtube, maar het in eigen beheer in de Fediverse (Peertube) gezet heeft. Hiermee houden ze controle over hun eigen content (digitale souvereiniteit) en kan het niet (deels) aangepast of verwijderd worden met AI of door een willekeurige president uit een ander land..
Hopenlijk doen ze dat ook met dit archief.
