I tried Aviator at the weekend. It's an easy-to-use GTK4/libadwaita app for encoding AV1 videos on Linux using a quality-focused fork of the SVT-AV1 software encoder — yes, software. Don't be put off, this things is surprisingly fast, super straightforward, and creates high quality conversions at much smaller file sizes. Win-win, right?
