The choice isn't "use AI or stop AI." It's "let surveillance capitalists control AI or build privacy-respecting alternatives."
Open source models run locally without data harvesting. That's the pushback that matters. Building better tools, not refusing all tools.
Your scientific applications point shows why blanket rejection fails. AI helps decode proteins and predict climate patterns. Abandoning that hands everything to Big Tech.
