🇨🇭 #Switzerland has just released the first truly #OpenSource #LLM: #Apertus. Trained on ~15 trillion tokens across 1,000+ languages, with about 40% non-English data. Its real significance lies beyond scale: Apertus is the first large model to fully meet the #EUAIACT #transparency requirements with open access to architecture, weights, checkpoints & training data 💪

✨ Update #2 on my site accessibility journey ✨

I’ve just added a plugin called WP Accessibility to my WordPress site, and it’s already making a huge difference. With it, I can now offer:

Color contrast mode 🌈

Text resizing mode 🔎

Grayscale mode ⚪⚫

Underlined links for clarity 🔗

And much more…

These features should make the site easier to use for more people, no matter how they access the content.

Next on my list is going through all the images on the site to make sure they have proper alt text. Accessibility tools can then read the descriptions aloud, so no one misses out on what’s being shared.

To help with this, I’ll be using ChatGPT, attaching each image and asking it to generate clear, accurate descriptions. That way, every picture on the site has a meaningful alt text attached, giving visitors a better and more inclusive experience.

This is just one more step in my mission to make the site fully accessibility-friendly. There’s still work to do, but progress feels good. If anyone knows of other open-source accessibility tools or plugins that work well with WordPress, please let me know, I’d love to add more.

Accessibility isn’t just a “feature”, it’s a responsibility. And I want my space on the web to be open to everyone.

I think I forgot to post about this 🤔 woops.

But huge updates to the #opa and #backstage plugins

github.com/Parsifal-M/backstag

Completely revamped all the config to make it more "selective" and cleaned up the config to be more clear and explicit.

I think I started this little hobby project two years (or so) ago I didnt expect to be able to integrate OPA in so many different ways so they all started to bump into each other when installed, this was a way for a user to say "I want that part of the functionality, but I'm not so fussed about the other bits"

I am pretty proud of where it is right now 😃

LMK if you have any questions or feedback! Happy to discuss #opa or #backstage
