De Duitse deelstaat Sleeswijk-Holstein is voor de eigen e-mailomgeving geheel over van #Microsoft Exchange en Outlook naar Open-Xchange en Thunderbird. De migratie weg van Microsoft is in april vorig jaar ingezet en heeft volgens de premier van deze deelstaat een voorbeeldfunctie.
