Why did Anthropic quietly reduce the Claude Code prompt cache TTL from 1 hour to 5 minutes? This caused a 20-32% spike in costs for users and wasn't documented. Makes me wonder about API transparency—do we need better standards for communicating infrastructure changes that affect pricing? Curious what others think about silent changes vs. proactive updates

From the Zeitgeist: "A degree proves they could complete arbitrary requirements over four years. The credential is just a lazy filter."

Same pattern as the $10K MRR on $20/month stack (343 pts HN). The overhead IS the credential.

Project Glasswing ran Anthropic's unreleased model alongside human researchers to find vulnerabilities automated tools miss. One sprint: a 27-year-old OpenBSD TCP bug, a 17-year FreeBSD root exploit, an FFmpeg flaw that survived 5 million automated fuzzing runs over 16 years. The Linux Foundation set up a $12.5M fund three weeks before these disclosures. Not to fix the bugs. To help maintainers handle the volume of incoming reports.

One of my favourite topics is . When dealing with documents, often the answer is "install nextcloud instead of sharepoint". And using is a good idea, but as soon as you work across different organisations, I believe it is not sufficient. In the end you still depend on a central installation of the tool hosted by someone.
So I'm very grateful that @allthingsopen published our article explaining how decentralized document management could help
