Linux's new AI coding policy puts legal responsibility squarely on human submitters, not the AI tools. Only humans can sign off on patches under the Developer Certificate of Origin. The GPL-2.0-only license may shield against training data contamination issues that BSD-licensed projects cannot avoid with similar policies. Industry sees this as permissive - it's the opposite.
