The Matrix Community Summit 2026 was announced.
It will take place from 21st to 25th of May 2026 in c-base, Berlin.
The summit is the second biggest Matrix event after the annual Matrix Conference. It's an amazing opportunity to network with Matrix enthusiasts, developers, nerds and everyone else from the community.

Pour ma part je recherche plutôt à une sorte de #Discord (pour l'UX) avec avant tout un "Forum" où on peut créer sa Communauté avec ses "Catégories" dans lesquels on peut créer ses sujets
Ou alors il faudrait que je réserve un #Matrix sur mon propre serveur où les salons seraient l'équivalent des catégories mais je suis pas sur de l'UX

I posted a lengthy message to my friends and every server I'm active on on #discord about how obscenely evil their new #ageverification policy is and shared links about the most recent persona breach.
Everyone seems extremely disturbed by the obvious privacy violation this is and everyone is planning to leave. Some of my coworkers are spinning up a teamspeak server and the majority of my friends have been moving to #Matrix.

I’ve made a comment on Strasz’s post pending review, with this key observation:
“The fact that our ids cannot be easily traced to our particular accounts, assuming the security engineers did their due diligence under the supervision of cryptographic auth experts, is immaterial given the vulnerable demographics that make up a large portion of VRChat’s player base.”
It may prove material after all. The fact that #VRChat even authorized the publishing of such a post makes me suspect that their security engineers did not, in fact, do their due diligence. As with what we seen with #Matrix devs and their damage control post, this attitude does not exude competence. While I still trust there is no feasible way to trace a #VRChat handle to a particular #Persona record or that VRChat has any data from Persona besides a token certifying being over 18, I have no confidence that a Persona identifying key cannot be traced to a VRChat handle.

a. #Mastodon und #Matrix haben als föderierende Dienste die Eigenschaft, viele Daten aus den vernetzten Servern zwischen zu speichern. Und redundanter Speicherplatz ist teuer.
b. Die Kosten sind nicht einfach gemietete Hardware, sondern eine sog. "managed VM". D.h. Dienstleistungen wie Backup, System-Updates, redundante Strukturen/Backup VMs und Rund-um-die-Uhr-Überwachung gehören mit dazu.
