I finally found time today to get my Mautrix bridges set up for Signal and Discord. It is so nice to now be able to use one app for most chats!
The only thing currently missing is an actively maintained bridge for WeChat. (I may be mistaken, but all the bridges I looked at seemed to be 3-5 years since their latest commit)

Sick of Element's shit, so trying out the Sable #Matrix client. And it's fucking awesome tbh. It's got threads, it's got stickers, it's got pronouns, it's got rich profiles, it's got furry nonsense. And I also just realized that it calls itself "sable" because it's "almost stable" which is really goshdarn funny.
The desktop client is still on Electron, but Element was using up 6% of my CPU for some reason and refusing to let me leave rooms, whereas Sable is not.

I installed #Mattermost on the cheapest #Hetzner cloud server. I found it to be quite similar to #Slack, with a much more intuitive UI than #RocketChat. So far, it's working perfectly.
All of these solutions are much better than #Teams, which I find terrible for written communication.
Does anyone here have experience of self-hosting Mattermost, and what are the costs? How many users? Did you use a dedicated server?
I also considered comparing it to #Matrix, but I don't think it's quite there yet in terms of UI for non-tech-savvy people.
