recently i catched up some critical words on the #matrix protocol and there was no time to ask, what is bad about it.
some time ago is used matrix and #element for the organization of an event.

@austin I just tried to explain the Spaces feature in @matrix to someone, and I quickly realised I don't fully understand it myself.
It could be really useful to add a page to joinmatrix.org explaining what Spaces are (and are not) and how to use them well. Especially in the context of people trying to use them as a replacement for a Miscord "server".

If #XMPP could be used to implement a modern chat platform, then why did #Matrix become the go-to chat platform for #FOSS community?
Was it just because Vector / Element looked a bit more like #Discord compared to other XMPP clients?

My opinion on #matrix is slowly turning around. For years I promoted it as the best #FOSS chat protocol that will eventually become the "glue that connects all communication platforms together".
But the frustration with various issues within Matrix ecosystem keeps growing:
- Still can't log into matrix.org account with #Nheko on #Linux. Getting Cloudflare timeout (Error 524). Is my IP cursed?
- Apparently I also timeout when trying to view rooms in some space in Element desktop.
