Ok, I have this love/hate relationship with #mobile #hardware. I... mostly ignore my #phone. I have an R8 and a #DAC and I ignore most of my phone calls. Since I've been using #LineageOS with no google apps for so long, I don't really care about banking apps or payment apps. I have plastic cards. Don't we all?
It's for this reason I was so ready to accept #Matrix and #XMPP, considering between them and #kdeconnect, I can continue any discussions on my desktop that I had on my phone, and mostly leave my phone behind, hell, even my steam deck.
So when it comes time that I probably, really, responsibly SHOULD upgrade my phone, I'm such a groaning old boomer about it, because I couldn't possibly care less about what phone I carry and I'm never ready to forcibly spend $300... again, for something I'll immediately hate, because Android hasn't gotten better since 2016 due to enshitty #google.
So, I think... this time, I've decided to just keep ignoring it. I carry a #Oneplus 7 pro, and I have a Oneplus 6 that's solid that I can use as a backup if the #OP7pro dies. Sure, there's the whole issue that maybe my device drivers have a bug that's been exploited by hackers at this point because #Lineage only updates Android, not firmware... but, really, even the companies you buy your phone from are maliciously #spying on you. Why should my care start at random hackers, but stop at everyone everyone else that fingerprints me?
The real use I have of my phone is my mom letting me know if she or the place we rent are in danger while I'm at work, or out and about, or if I get lost or mauled by a bear in the woods because my natural safe-place is a hiking trail. That's about it. Does it take decent photos? Don't care. Screen? Don't care. Performance? Don't care... to a point. Base, utilitarian performance is well and good. I'm not gaming on it.
I'm just so jaded with it all. Maybe I'll go #motorola this round so I can have a Lineage-capable phone that doesn't cost me much to have recent hardware.

Крч, рассказываю! Вчера я делал обновление сервера и забыл про бэкап, в итоге, большая часть постов в Fediverse отвалилось... @whale - аккаунт и сама платформа подкастов отвалилась... будем восстанавливать
Сервер будет иметь диск - 500GB
Диски ваших аккаунтов будет иметь - 5 GB памяти (буду оч рад, если тут будет оч много контента.)
Ещё, нам скоро сделают Matrix, а в XMPP будут добавлены новые каналы и группы

Testuję od kilku dni konto #Movim.eu -> m0bi@movim.eu między innymi dla zintegrowanych bramek do #Discord (przetestowana, działa), #Matrix (przetestuję) i #Telegram (nie potrzebuję, może wy).
Można też subskrybować społeczności, robi się trochę taki social media network w #XMPP

Eine kleine Rückschau auf unseren #Matrix-Stammtisch im @kursif 
Auch wenn wir dieses Mal in kleinerer Runde zusammen gefachsimpelt haben, war es ein schöner Abend mit vielen Gesprächen über Matrix, Open Source und den ganzen Rest.
Der nächste Termin wird dann 2026 stattfinden. Die Details werden noch ausgeknobelt.
P.S.: Es gab sogar eine #XMPP-Ecke

Was hat mir #Signal schon Stolperstricke gelegt! Tagelang geblockter Account, weil angeblich falsche Login-Daten. Dann Historie weg. Einfach so oder spätestens beim Gerätewechsel. War nicht schlimm - kam bald ne neue. Aber Signal ist (zumindest war) teil auch ein Alptraum - ux-wise.
#Matrix war für nicht-nerds teils sicher auch ein Alptraum. Aber wenn #Großeltern & Co. inzwischen nach ein paar Minuten Einweisung Matrix nutzen können - WARUM kann das nicht auch die breite Masse?
Beim #Fahrrad springt die Kette runter: Die breite Masse kann sie wieder auflegen.
Beim #Tram geht die Türe nicht zu - die breite Masse weiß, dass wohl zu viele Menschen in der Türe stehen und sie blockieren.
Zum #Auto anmelden braucht man jeden Menge Unterlagen, ein Nummernschild, Verischerung, ... die breite Masse bringt das auf die Spur.
#SUV s sind tod-sicher und blasen viel viel Dreck in die Atmosphäre. #Verkehrssicherheit und #Klima leiden darunter. Die breite Masse weiß es besser.
Hat das nicht alles einfach auch was mit #Ignoranz und #Verdrängung zu tun?
