I have a question on fediverse. Will this survive without any money from ads? If no monetary benefit, big influencers won't have incentive to join this space. So this will be an place where a niche people can interact. But the success of any social network depends on the networking effect. If we don't have enough userbase, people will use this space less and less until they have interest. Am I thinking correctly or am I missing something here? #fediverse #mastodon

Of course that in turn makes the network effects more attractive for both community builders and the members alike. As well as those of us who are already here!

I've been a grateful participant on #mastodon since 2022. In that time I've realized the true value of having a curated chronological feed, free of ads and not controlled by algorithms.
Not only can I easily stay informed, I have come to interact with some genuinely interesting and very nice people and I often asked myself why aren't more people taking advantage of such a great opportunity.
The answer of course is not simple...
