Bueno, hoy la actividad del nodo superó el millón de tareas. Eso no pasaba hace años, creo que desde la gran migración de Twitter. Nuestro nodo procesaba unas 500k tareas y el último mes pasó a procesar unas 600k promedio semanal, porque luego de la migración agregamos algunos relays más y además inauguramos nuestro propio relay, lo cual incrementa el tráfico. Pero hoy el tráfico se incrementó casi en un 70% más que de costumbre. No se si hay algun movimiento en el fodiverso, algún bot o instancias de estas que escrapean datos para la IA o que, pero es curioso ese aumento. Han notado algo similar en sus instancias? Me comentan debajo si quieren. Como comentario al margen, decir que el nodo ni se dió cuenta del trabajo extra, lo despachó como si nada, no hubo un aumento notorio en la carga del sistema ni en el consumo, sí en el tráfico de red. #mastoadmin #mastodon #undernet #uruguay

If you really believe in the silly 250 character limit, then why the heck is everyone posting "3/12" continuation threads?
Either the limit is a good idea, and nobody should post multi-part toots, or its a dumb idea, and should be retired (in favor of a ~6k post limit). One or the other. Cut the crap, already.
I'd 100x rather see long posts shortened with a "See more" button than yet another toot that ends with "1/" 🤦🏻♂️
Forcing people to create threads just to get their thought across is terrible UX, and I'm tired of being diplomatic about it.
