Anyone else NOT enjoying the post quoting feature being overused and fragmenting discussions? As more and more people use it recently, it's becoming insufferable, just like it was on Twitter.
Everyone's got a take, and instead of just commenting on a post, they create a new "thread" instead.

i searched through the logs of my #NextDNS setups for the domain used in the #axios postinstall security issue fully assuming it would come up empty, but it did not 🫨
as this instance is linked to a bunch of #fediverse relays it receives a lot of random posts. and this morning it tried to load the link preview for a post containing said url 🫣
the lock file for #mastodon v4.5.8 also seems to be resolving to an older version

TIL: Mastodon seems to keep some data indefinitely, specifically Remote content retention period is not set (and not advised to be set according to @mastohost). This means my database size keeps increasing over time, with no safe way to put a cap on it - unlike media storage where I can safely say 'delete anything over X days old'.

Dich erlebe ich auch nicht als pseudo-besorgt, sondern als ehrlich interessiert.
Ohne ehrlich dialogische Menschen wie Dich, @ElisabethK , @silberspur usw. hätte auch ich #Mastodon schon längst aufgegeben. Denn auch hier gibt es leider Tendenzen zu engstirniger Blasenbildung samt inszenierter Shitstörmle gegen demokratische Vielfalt.

Ich habe es gewagt und nochmal eine Instanz erstellt. In den nächsten Tagen werde ich die Föderierung vorantreiben, und sie dann für Registrierungen öffnen.
Auch wenn andere Netzwerke schneller wachsen, glaube ich an das Fediverse, und dass es einfach der beste Platz mit den vielfältigsten Möglichkeiten ist.
