I just upgraded my mastodon instance with several steps from v4.1.15 to v4.5.8. I encountered some problems with:
- low disk space when upgrading Postgresql v13 to v15
- low memory when compiling something
- low performance when installing a new version of ruby or when compiling things
Apart from those self-imposed problems, everything went smoothly. I could even do all database upgrades without any hassle. Thank you all for building this great software.

We visited a friend so our sons could play, but they had almost no toys or shared activities. Total boredom. Luckily, my backup plan kicked in. I asked if their son could play video games, then whipped out my Samsung DeX setup with a 17" monitor & gamepads. They played Sega Genesis Emulation for 2 hours!
Funny how some parents just hope kids "invent" a plan. Our house is the opposite: games, movies, and great food . Be prepared or be bored!

Wusstet ihr, dass im Fediverse eure Daten nicht irgendwo in einem Rechenzentrum in Übersee verschwinden? Die laufen auf dem Server von jemandem, dem ihr (hoffentlich) einigermaßen vertraut – oft sogar einer kleinen Community. Klingt erstmal seltsam, ist aber eigentlich das Normalste der Welt. So wie früher E-Mail. Nur mit mehr Katzenbildern. 🐱
