Mastodon has lately hidden the replies tab to a toggle in a non-obvious drop-down.
Given that reviewing a person's replies is a key way that I screen follow requests, I consider adding friction to this process to be user-hostile.
The server on nightly build that I use as a "canary in the coalmine" doesn't yet have this "feature" or it isn't turned on for them.
Reading this move in a charitable way, I think they're trying to add the "show boosts" toggle without adding additional complexity to the interface. I can see that toggle being useful. However, again, adding friction to a necessary part of the interface (and, in this case, functionally hiding it) is something I disapprove of.

Welp, he was wrong about Mastodon fizzling out in two weeks, but the one thing he wasn't wrong about was Mastodon growing stagnant. Mastodon's sat at the same active user counts for a while and it's plateau'd. The platform hasn't seen any significant growth since the 2022 Twitter exodus, and though growth obviously isn't everything, Mastodon remains relatively niche.
Still, funny reading about this dude just having a massive skill-issue with using Mastodon.

Fedibird(Mastodon)の自分のアカウントを、Misskey.ioと隠れ家でリスト追加するのも試した。
「リストに追加したという通知は届かず、サーバーのプロキシアカウント(system.proxy)が代理フォローした場合にフォロー通知が届く」のは同じだった。ただしフォロー通知の前にフォローリクエスト通知が表示され、承認する必要があった（添付画像1～2枚目）。
Fedibirdには「Bot承認制アカウント（Botアカウントからのフォローを手動で承認する）」という設定項目がある（3枚目）。私はこれを有効にしてるので、Botラベルが付いてるプロキシアカウントからのフォローは承認が必要だったのかもしれない。

「Misskeyで他のユーザーをリストに追加したら相手に通知は届くのか」が気になったので、自分のMisskey.ioアカウントと隠れ家（LTLのないMisskeyサーバー）アカウント同士で試してみた。
結論としては、「リストに追加したという通知は届かない。ただし投稿取得のためにサーバーのプロキシアカウントが相手を代理フォローすることがあり、そのフォロー通知は相手に届く」。
添付画像1～2枚目は、ioと隠れ家で自分のアカウント同士をリスト追加した時の通知画面。プロキシアカウントからフォローされたという通知は届いたものの、リスト追加については通知されなかった。
3～4枚目は、ioと隠れ家のプロキシアカウント(system.proxy)のプロフィール画面。上部にシステムアカウントであることが表示され、紹介文では「投稿取得のために代理フォローするアカウント」と説明されている。
