7月30日、Google DeepMindが発表した AIモデル「AlphaEarth Foundations」は、膨大な地球観測データを統合し、コンピュータが容易に処理できる統一されたデジタル表現「埋め込み(embedding)」を構築することで、地球全体の陸地と沿岸海域を正確かつ効率的に特徴づけます。科学者は地球環境の変化に関するより完全で一貫性のある全体像を把握できるようになり、食料安全保障、森林破壊、都市拡大、水資源、生物多様性といった重要な問題に関して、科学的な情報に基づいた意思決定を行うことができます。

Thanks to SeaweedFS, I've set up two replicas of the BSD Cafe's media. One is on a backup server (for disaster recovery purposes only, also containing the hourly zfs-autobackup backups), and the other is on a Raspberry Pi 4 running FreeBSD, which is one of my home backup servers - just one meter away from my desk.
I've also configured Nginx in a jail, so when I'm at home, the BSD Cafe's media is served directly from the local replica.
The performance is lightning fast.

I will have a take that is quite controversial which is there are no artists on YouTube. Drawing nice does not make you an artist. It is always badly drawn cartoon character who yaps constantly, or someone just drawing some realistic landscape with some speed-ups, or some hyperrealistic vomit, or some video that captures a genuinely good street art but just rely on such sincere expression which comes out as faux-sincere.
The art criticism meanwhile is much better, surprisingly. The Canvas is one of my favorites.
