I support creating an AI agent which will craft an algorithm just for me: “Hi, AI! Please build me a social media algorithm which will recommend me content from non-debate bros/sis who do not engage in binary thinking, ad hominen attacks and are utterly mean, self-righteous people. I want people who share me beautiful things from their lives - it can be on food, their country, their homes! As long as it’s beautiful and lifts my spirit. It can be on any topic. Thank you!”
Come to think of it, it’s kinda stifling that we have to be trapped in a platform’s algorithm, which is fuelled by their self-interest - but it’s “free”, so this is the price, so no point feeling annoyed by it.
Fortunately, we have #Mastodon. I'm so spoiled by it, and yes, my feed is full of beautiful things and equally wounderful people.

@watchfulcitizen I've been running my single-user instance since May of 2023. Fedi isn't dying, the protocol just currently struggles with discoverability of content for smaller instances. They're working on fixes for that.
My feed is almost entirely posts and boosts of people and orgs that I follow. Following hashtags (like #foss, or #mastodon) also helps if your instance has relays configured.

You know how in Ender's Game where the Earth military is operating out of a cramped abandonded alien colony? That's #Mastodon. Sure, it's an improvement over Twitter, but it's still built on Twitter's blueprint. It wasn't made for us and it's an unnatural framework to build a community around. And the root of so much conflict on here is that people have different implicit ideas about the correct way for a human to live in this alien *thing*. There's no correct way. Microblogging was a mistake.

I appreciate the reblogs. 
I feel like there needs to be some kind of system-wide announcement we can rely on broadcasting to every user. We need a message that saya something like: "if you want to be involved in a class action for the privacy invasion you suffered..." If we could have every user see that we could have a meaningful act. Is #Mastodon even designed to facilitate something like that? Decentralization could have made that less feasible.
