I'm deeply shocked. The guitarist Brent Hinds died yesterday on August 20th in a tragic accident.
As a long-time #Mastodon (the rock band) fan I'm just speechless that he died so suddenly and sadly wasn't on good terms with his former band mates after he got kicked out of the band.
He was a driving creative force and his distinct guitar playing and songwriting accompanied me for many years.
I even have a tattoo dedicated to one of their songs.
RIP Brent Hinds, you legend!

Brent Hinds, the cofounder of the heavy metal band Mastodon, died in a motorcycle accident yesterday, a representative for the group says. Hinds was the band's guitarist for 25 years before leaving earlier this year. Mastodon won six Grammys in total, and 2004 album "Leviathan" was named one of Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Metal Albums of all Time. Here's more.
