So, a while ago, I complained that it was hard to open a #Mastodon post in a new tab if it didn't contain any text, just images, because clicking on the image made the image bigger. You could go to the ... menu and that had a link to the original post but not the post on your instance. You could use the 'copy link to status' option in the ... menu, but then you needed to open a new tab and paste it.
And some helpful people pointed out that the space to the right of the person's username was also a clickable link to the post. Yay!
Only, since the last update, that entire region has become a link to the user's account page, not the post. Which is more consistent (it was not very discoverable before) but also annoying.
Is this a thing specific to some patches my instance uses, or part of the upstream release?

Ich habe Jesus gefunden. Jesus wirkt hier gleich nebenan und verwaltet auf #mastodon.de Mensch und Technik. Jesus ging zum #AfD #Bürgerdialog und als er vor der Bühne kam, schleuderte er seine selbstgerechte Herrlichkeit gegen die Anwesenden. Zuhause sagte Jesus seine Jüngern was war und obschon sie mit eigenen Augen sehen konnten was ist, priesen sie seine enorme Männlichkeit. Es dauerte dann auch nicht lange und sein Wunder ging viral (zB 2W8iPdYOZwI).

“Discovery feeds” are inevitably problematic. There is always bias in curation, and vote-based systems are always manipulated.
Part of why I love Mastodon is that “discovery” is just a natural part of how things work here. Instances have their own public feeds, where you can easily follow people and interests (hashtags) to build out your own timeline. No curation or bias. Just a stream of activity for your own personal discovery, on your own terms.

My favourite part of #Mastodon is when my Home page *unloads* everything that was there, sometimes in the middle of me reading it, to show the a Load More prompt.
