Sie sollen meinen Post lesen müssen – oder mich sonst blockieren oder stummschalten. Read today that a large part of the scientific community has now firmly abandoned Twitter/X for #Bluesky. I'm not at all interested in maintaining two separate social media accounts, so I'll certainly keep my main account on #Mastodon, but just to give it a try, I've enabled brid.gy for my account. I'm realisingg I'm living in a power company hell. After getting away from British Gas to a company that works fine for me, but British Gas still owe me money (they kicked off the hell y attemting to overcharge me by £4000.00 when the introduced a new accounting system (shades of the Post Office?). I pay my ills and all is quiet on the power supply front when another company sends me bills by post (Not addressed to my name). I throw the first one away, the second, I call them and ask them to stop, they say no until they sort it out! I point out they can do what they like, I have my supply from a different company, havee never dealt with them. Now, I,m actually wondering if it's something British gas did meter wise) Geez, life used to be easier beore everything became digital. Right now I'm looking with envy at anyone living off-grid!

Thank you all who responded to my questions and also chipped in a few suggestions. I think I've solved the mystery of the "preview unavailable" that appears so often (at least in my timeline): after a few tests I've concluded that these are mostly video sources from other servers and platforms. Preview is fine if content is uploaded directly onto #pixelfed but videos of 15mb+ from #mastodon or other places cannot be viewed with previews here on Pixelfed. I imagine this is either due to filesize or some data simply doesn't get translated onto Pixelfed. Pixelfed videos show up on Mastodon with their preview windows just fine btw.
So, to simplify things, here is a jolly *still photo* from the current edit I'm working on. Planning to do another set of recordings with some new techniques in the next few days, so more coming...!
