Can anyone recommend a Mastodon server host that supports Hometown? Ideally looking for a provider that is happy to support a single digit number of user's instances and is priced appropriately to that.
My current provider's smallest size is a bit pricey and they seem to be leaning out of this type of service.

It is interesting how the people who call you a #fascist are the first to attempt to silence you by having blocked on a #Mastodon instance for holding a different #political stance. It's almost like they don't see their own hypocrisy.
I shouldn't give them this advice, but they should understand that their hyperbole is killing the strength of their arguments. If they called people #nazis less and just argued the points, they would get farther. The anger and vitriol is wearing people out.

Tested to upgrade my #Mastodon 4.5.0.alpha2 on a local clone to current main tag.
First surprise, #debian had upgrade of pgsql to 18.
Second surprise after upgrade and pull, new #ruby version required.
After this was cleared .... instance did not start up. End was havin 2 bundle processes with 100% load each, stopped waiting after 15 mins.
Dropped that clone and give it a new try next days.
Besides, can someone tell me how to check for a reason when its stuck like that? Like error logs or such ?

I'm not sure that I like that the new #Mastodon iOS client renders #Markdown style emphasis in the client without a setting indicating that this will happen to the posts.
I would very much like the possibility of having the server render to rich text (HTML), but not this.

3/ I don't appreciate users who posts links to other sites without giving the slightest hint at what the link contains. The Bluesky users are the worst at doing this. Personally, if I wanted to read Bluesky posts I would have joined, but I could see the writing on the wall. Corporate owners have one interest - money. No thanks. I've had enough of that.

1/ I opened my account on Mastodon almost 3 years ago, near to the minute when Musk took control of Twitter. I've been off Facebook since 2015. I NEVER had a good experience on Twitter; few user to user interactions and no repeat interactions. Lots of other people telling me what to think and what to do. Facebook had become a trashcan. I waited too long to leave there.
