Is the fact that trying to navigate mastodon.social today results in constant (not hard) refreshes and a message that says "see new replies", the real reason Pachli is trying to make me feel okay with the app to (sometimes on start) suddenly reload whenever I go somewhere else on my phone to do something else?
All it does is disrupt whatever I was looking at and then it suddenly changes. Which is not a good experience imo. It just tells me to focus only on Mastodon and nowhere else. It does not help me keep up with new information - actually it potentially, inadvertently, erases it. It also assumes the user is too slow to just reload the website by themselves and that the software has to do that for them. Not even other websites/software do this.
(My instance is not subject to constant refreshes on the web version)

Auf #Mastodon gibt es halt sehr viele Stimmen, die der #Union & manchmal auch der gesamten #Demokratie den Untergang wünschen. Auf deren "Rat" kann ich verzichten.
Dass die #Partei sich noch sehr viel breiter & deutlicher gegen die rechtslibertäre #Engführung wenden sollte - ja, das meine ich auch. Und leiste meinen Teil dazu.

So I've been upping my time in using #Vivaldi. I recently discovered that they offer email to their registered users, if the users participate in Vivaldi's social forums. #Mastodon is one of those. And apparently I now have a Mastodon on Vivaldi's instance.
I'm torn. I only have so much time to spend on any one instance or any one account.
Guess I'll be seeing what I can do to up my engagement with Vivaldi so that I can try their webmail.

I wasn't expecting contacts on a #blocked #mastodon server (seqular) to disappear without trace.
It's not a problem--the contact seemed like an LLM and I was just waiting for it to confirm that.
But it feels /odd/ that it got deleted from the followers list. Is that expected behaviour?

Mastodon is quite silly. It almost looks to me like looking at a trunk line of conversations. Or perhaps a trunk radio system. There is little to no flow to anything, parts and snips of conversation are everywhere, and a lot of things are unrelatable, even with the fetch all replies feature. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Not to mention the annoyance of having to open each thread to check what's available, every, single, time...
And even when it appears to be working, and you've opened the thread, and you're seeing replies, you're still left scratching your head, well did it really fetch everything? Is there more to the story?
However, the Mastodon project sure is actively and vibrantly being maintained and enhanced, so I am hoping threading becomes a greater focus and increased reliability comes in the near future.
