Now that I've undergone digital defenestration (you know, leaving Windows), I've now started to look at alternatives to my XBox Series One in the lounge.
I'm not in such a massive hurry with this next de-big-teching project, but in the next couple of years I plan to build my own gaming Linux desktop PC to replace it.

I see folks here sharing Bandcamp download codes when releasing. I've used Bandcamp for many years myself as well as other services.
My question is: Why not set your releases to 'Pay What You Want' instead of demanding a certain price and then giving out codes for downloads?
To me it makes more sense to allow anyone to download at the price they choose and if they want to support it they can.

Creo que es importante reconocer que ni cualquiera ni en todo momento se podrá contar con la extroversión necesaria para participar en una red social de microblogs como #Mastodon.
Habrá quien tampoco se vea capaz de abrirse a espacios comunitarios más pequeños y cerrados como los de #Matrix, y también está bien.
Hay que socializar al ritmo que se pueda, fuera o dentro de internet, sin encerrarse ni acomodarse en el silencio y la soledad.
Mucho ánimo con ello y tened una buena semana.

Cuanto más uso Mastodon, más noto la diferencia entre un timeline cronológico y uno con algoritmo. Aquí siento que realmente sigo temas que me interesan, sin ruido. Me parece que puede funcionar bien para bibliotecas e instituciones culturales.

Federated News
With #Iceshrimp, #Bonfire, and many other projects, the long-awaited federated community projects seem to be gaining momentum. As grateful as we all are to #Mastodon and its creators, it must give way and become one of many. Every new project, whether it survives or not, brings more knowledge, more objects, more freedom. The standards will soon make it possible for anyone to build their own federated system. Mastodon will remain an absolute legend, but it does not meet the requirements needed for the Fediverse and the Federation to survive.
With Iceshrimp https://iceshrimp.dev/iceshrimp/iceshrimp.net and Bonfire Networks https://bonfirenetworks.org/ (to name just a few), we seem to be moving quite dynamically into the future.
Support this if you can. I'm definitely going to give it a try. I'm still dreaming of a federated music network. Mastodon is not at all suitable for this. Not to mention Discovery and similar creepy centralist nonsense. Three cheers for the COMMUNITY!
