Trying out the #Mastodon iOS app. It freezes while scrolling. Like 4-5 times while scrolling past a single post. As I type this message, letters take around 600-800ms to appear after I press keys. It’s like rendering can’t keep up.

schade, dass ein Herr Thoralf Will, der anderen #Fremdenfeindlichkeit vorwirft, sich selbst als höchst intolerant gegen anderen Meinungen, Einstellungen und Kulturen erweist, wenn man seiner Meinung widerspricht. Er hat mich kommentarlos blockiert. Merkwürdig bei #Mastodon ist, dass ein Hinweis (auf dem Profil des Blockierenden zumindest) fehlt, dass man vom Nutzer blockiert wurde.

Wow, some people are batshit crazy on #Mastodon. Like "you disagree with me on unrelated topic X? Why do you hate transgender people?" crazy.
Just realized how good my filters and the default feed work. I had to dig deep into comments to find these people. It's nice to not have an algorithm push these people into my timeline. And the blocking and muting works just as fine for everything and else!

We've had a rather wet and warm autumn so far in my bit of Norway.
Each time there has been an event in the night sky that we would have liked to have seen, a comet, a star exploding, we have ended up with another cloudy night.
So thanks to all of you on Mastodon for posting your amazing pictures of the current light shows across the Northern Hemisphere.
We can still enjoy the night sky despite the weather.

I just unfollowed someone I did not want to unfollow, because they write really long threads, every day, and either Mastodon or my Mastodon client (Toot!) cannot deal with long threads in a reasonable manner (e.g., showing me the first toot and then including some indication that it’s the first in a thread), so my whole timeline was being buried under this person’s long threads. It seems this shouldn’t be difficult to handle. #mastodon
