Brief steps for updating #Mastodon to 4.5:
- Update to the latest for your current branch first (e.g 4.4.8 if you're on 4.4.5)
- Make a postgres backup (ask if you need help with this)
- If you have the git repo, checkout branch stable-4.5 and pull the updates
- if you use the docker-compose.yml file, alter the versions in there to 4.5
- docker compose pull; docker compose build
- run the migrations ( RAILS_ENV=production bundle exec rake db:migrate )
- bring everything back up.
