@teamscheisse.bsky.social , a band from Germany (playing in clubs in front from 500-2k people) were quitting all their Meta social media accounts - and they still sell tickets and the venues are still full and sold out. Maybe they can give us feedback about their experience?
But still how to get other bands to use alternative social media like #Mastodon, #loops #pixelfed #peertube is the question.
And i don't have more ideas tbh.

So, as I'm leaving at the end of this year finally Facebook, I will not be able to post anymore to Facebook about the Fediverse. At the moment I'm advocating in all the groups about the fediverse, but not really a lot of reaction, i guess my posts are shadow-banned.
So how you want to inform people about what is going on? How you make advertisement for your services?

Everything in your main "Home" timeline on Mastodon is there for one of these reasons:
-An account you follow posted it
-An account you follow boosted it
-The post contains a hashtag you follow
-An account you follow replied to an account you also follow
-An account you follow replied to itself
Nothing else gets in your main feed, it's just these things.
If hashtags are at the end of a post they are displayed in a smaller font below the post, which some people miss.

The other thing I've been doing is getting up to speed with #RDF, #FOAF and other #semanticweb technologies. I'm trying to build a representation of my social graph which I can query using open technologies, and converting what I can download from my home instance via the #mastodon API to FOAF was pretty straightforward, although I haven't yet really tried querying it yet, which I'm guessing either means learning #SPARQL or finding some sort of graphical explorer app.
I think there are two directions in which I want to take this. First is analysing the post history, e.g. looking at the #tags people use. Because of the way #FCLI works I've built up an archive of around 300k posts ready to do that with, so there should be some interesting data there.
Secondly, I was thinking about following the social graph to higher order connections, i.e. who the people I follow follow ...

Qui c'è spazio per tutti, e chiunque può finire in tendenza con un contenuto interessante.
Per di più il flusso in diretta e quello di tendenza sono esattamente uguali per tutti gli utenti, senza algoritmi a decidere chi penalizzare o rendere virale.
La chicca più recente? Citando è persino possibile rilanciare e donare più visibilità ai post altrui, anche con tag ed hastag

I prefer the way that #Mastodon does muted words; posts that contain them still show up in your timeline, just hidden behind a label that can tell you which word they contain. That way I can decide if I want to open them up and see something awful, as a little treat.
