I migrated my server (strangeweb.page) from us-east-2/Ohio (AWS) to Germany (Hetzner). Just the EC2 for now, the S3 data will be dealt with later. If you can read this, it worked!

The TTL on the original DNS has expired and various servers & my own clients are now talking to the new one.

My thanks to the contributors of the https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/migrating/ page. This migration was the "trickiest" thing I've done with Mastodon in the past 3 years and any hiccups were self-inflicted.

I think it would've been easy to throw the #Mastodon logo at some print-on-demand website and be done with it, but I've always wanted Mastodon merch to be something bespoke, something you'd genuinely want to keep for years. This is why I chose the difficult path: Manually finding suppliers, prototyping, ordering in advance and distributing through our own shop. It's a lot of work, which is why it tends to happen as individual "drops" rather than a continuous, all year round stock.
