ffs. i was wondering why my timeline has been so quiet since i moved from dialup.cafe to tomodori.net. i assumed it was some kind of federation issue
as it turns out, mastodon only imported about 25% of my follow list. i had noticed the import crashed halfway through, but i assumed it was some kind of job that would resume itself after a failure. it apparently did not 😩
i just went through 22k posts and manually followed back as many people as i could figure out how to. some accounts/instances are gone, so i'm sure i've missed many. if you just got a rando follow from me, that's why.
