Some brief points:

- #Mastodon needs to invest in alleviating this burden. It’s already a pain for shorter things.
- As far as I’m concerned the purpose of this field is to be a caption. There’s absolutely zero reason to try to reproduce the entire contents of an image.
- This is exactly the alt field from an HTML img tag. Never host images without that field.
- This is not entirely about #accessibility. There’s only so far I’m ever willing to go for that purpose.

TBTHWY: Social Media ist in der Politik zuerst ein Medium, um die eigene Sicht und sich nach außen zu tragen und #Mastodon gilt da als völlig irrelevant (für die Reichweite). Man muss also schon etwas bekloppt sein, diesen Kanal zu bespiele (oder Überzeugungstäter).
Ich versuche Mastodon nicht als (Selbst-)Präsentationsmedium zu nutzen, sondern als Feedback-Kanal zu einer Community die nicht auf Instagram ist, die mir aber wichtig ist.
