It would Really Be Super Nice if #mastodon , and the fediverse in general, gave users the option to turn off their rss feeds.
By default, and depending on instance configuration, everyone has a rss feed which shows public and quiet-public toots.
It seems that the only way to disable rss is to do it instance-wide and that requires admin privileges.

Um. Linking to a post is not "Quoted a post." The behavior of links to posts has changed since quote posts were introduced. When I used to link, that was it. Done. Now? It deletes images in linked posts FROM OUR TIMELINES. Perhaps that is not getting across, but it is VERY ANNOYING BEHAVIOR. I've linked to a post, and in my Notifications, it says, "Quoted a post by ...," and that is wrong. Not quoted. LINKED TO.
If they are going to be the same thing, just say so and get rid of linked posts altogether. This is a repeated annoyance I'm tiring of.

i've discussed creating websites or apps to identify & list blue vs fascist/appeaser businesses to help people spend💙
but this could help at the product level. eg, i don't buy maga #Goya products

Nun, im Bild der #Kneipe mit Einlasskontrolle bietet sich mir halt die Befürchtung einer mimetischen #Blase. Wenn ich damit zufrieden wäre, würde ich mich einfach aus #Mastodon zurückziehen.
Aber nach meiner Einschätzung brauchen freiheitliche #Demokratien immer auch Orte der gemeinsamen Öffentlichkeit und des Dialoges - der Begriff #Republik kommt von res publica = öffentliche Sache.
Eine "zerblasene" Gesellschaft wäre der Traum von Autoritären & ich möchte genau nicht dorthin.
