I put some random thoughts about LLMs and AI on LinkedIn. I didn’t praise them. But I admitted that, as tools, they have a benefit. And as tech/science, I think they’re fundamentally cool.
Mostly, I just don’t love them and have my own, personal issues with them. This is without even diving into ethical concerns.
Folks whom I’ve never met on LinkedIn were very quick to jump in and tell me that they’re wonderful. Why?
Extra odd since I usually get little attention there.

I almost deleted my #LinkedIn profile about 10 years ago but then I got a new business lead via LinkedIn the same exact day. So that changed my mind. However I was curious if any of the older Fediverse dwellers have any thoughts about removing your LinkedIn profile post-retirement? An aging gen-xer would like to know.

@Lapizistik ...da koenntest du sehr richtig mit liegen. ich hab schon vor 5 jahren just for fun in mein #linkedin profil geschrieben: "Cloud-Exit-Strategie-Beratung" als key skill zu besitzen. mir scheint, das ist zunehmend eine gefragte skill (zumindest in europa). 😈

Ich verlinke wirklich ungern auf die asozjale spämmplattform „linkedin“, aber das ist mir den link mal wert: um unseren kompjuterkram kümmert sich der Markus. Und genau das habe ich in der BRD mehr als einmal genau so mitgekriegt. Einschließlich eines unternehmens, das in eine richtige krise kam, wenn so ein Markus mal tschüss gesagt hat. Ich habe auch schon erlebt, dass so ein Markus vorsätzlich die gesamte angelegte dokumentazjon zerstört hat, weil er die schnauze richtig voll hatte.
