#linkedin is absolutely cosplay.
I received a push notification, and tapped on it by mistake instead of swiping it away. An old friend (F1) had posted a thing. Another old friend (F2) was congratulating him. The first friend thanked him.
I'm not posting a screenshot, but the text was:
(F2): Congratulations F1 on this beautiful initiative fostering growth of the next generation.
(F1): Thank you kindly Mr. F2.
This was funny as hell to me, because every interaction between these two I've seen live involved swearing, friendly insults, and loud burping.

@nixCraft And yet LinkedIn is allowed to keep running its own servers rather than moving to Azure. Of course, there aren't any useful #LinkedIn features on its roadmap to put on hold and allocate resources to an #Azure migration, unlike with GitHub.😏

@krypt3ia Will a $1 donation to the #crowdfunding campaign confer to me 1 vote that I might cast if I wanted to suggest another naming option, such as "industry groupwank"? I think I would be willing to donate on this basis.
Also there's a joke about signal:noise ratios and Dr Shannon's work out of Bell Labs, that would lead to another witty name suggestion, but I can't see the answer yet. Maybe I ought to feed the matter into an LLM.

J'ai fait un post à plus de 20 000 impressions sur LinkedIn.
Bah oui, j'avais suivi scrupuleusement la recette indiquée :
-Une intro catchy (comprenez "putaclic")
-Un contenu "authentique et sincère" à forte valeur ajoutée (authentique, mais minutieusement calculé, préparé et optimisé)
- Un CTA (call to action, genre "Tu montes, chéri·e ?")
Et ?
Aucune commande.
Aucune prise de contact.
Mais, en vrai, est-ce que c'est mon public ?
Et surtout...
Comment on fait pour trouver des client·es sans avoir l'impression de tapiner sur LinkedIn ?

Here's today's earth-shatteringly stupid sales pitch on #LinkedIn.
1) "I'm a shareholder in your company. Can we have a chat during which you will reveal inside information about your company to me?"
2) "I haven't taken the time to actually find out what the 'D' in your company name stands for, but I'm going to make a joke about it standing for something it doesn't because that will definitely seem clever and endear me to you!"
