The downside is that that article itself, as noted by Hacker News readers, has many of the hallmarks of being produced by an LLM. Or at least being down at the LinkedIn post level of writing. There's not even a scale on the Y axis of the graph.

LinkedIn - I have a love/hate relationship with thee (mostly hate).
Its been a necessary evil in the world of job hunting and connecting with folks in the industry. I would usually send out a connection request and add a short note.
However, you can only send so many notes out before you hit a paywall. Not only do they restrict you to 200 characters, but now is a paid premium offer. I'm sorta dumb for using LinkedIn, but I finder it dumber that I have to pay to send a short note to a recruiter.
