Yesterday I read a post on #linkedin from a guy complaining about his posts being shadow-ghosted - meaning that interactions suddenly dropped to 0 - out of the blue. I imagine that a flag was set to "Do not include in feeds" by LinkedIn.
Ofc this has real consequences for content creators - similarly to the effect felt by influencers on Tiktok/Instagram when their accounts get blocked.
I also thought: Tough luck - that's what you get when you put all of your eggs into one basket - and that basket is owned by #bigtech and billionaires.
What I also did was to try to find a fediverse alternative to LinkedIn - cause I also cared enough to want to help this guy. But I couldn't find one. Can this really be true? Is there no LinkedIn alternative in the fediverse? Apparently LinkedIn has a billion users, so the basis for an alternative seems obvious ... at least to me.
