👋 Sur #LinkedIn, j'ai vu une énième publication où l'auteur parle de #WinGet comme une révolution pour la gestion des paquets sous #Microsoft #Windows.
Non, mais, sérieusement ?! Windows, dans bien des domaines, a des décennies de retard sur GNU/Linux (et concernant ce point, environ 30 ans, rien que ça).
C'est vraiment comique de voir ces gens s'extasier devant une nouveauté qui n'en est en réalité pas du tout une.
Grand bien leur fasse !
Notons aussi que Winget n'a pas de GUI.

Landesbehörde fordert ihre Bediensteten auf, ihr zwecks Informationsverteilung auf #Linkedin zu folgen und dafür auch Werbung bei allen Kolleg:innen im Land zu machen und diese auch dazu aufzufordern. Natürlich wird nicht auf die Problematik dieser #Microsoft-Plattform hingewiesen. Hauptsache man ist "hip".
Dieses "Business-Facebook" ist dafür nicht der richtige Platz, digital maximal unsouverän, und eine miese Datenkrake.

Darüber hatte ich auch schon nachgedacht: Was macht man eigentlich, wenn Unternehmen (oder überreiche Personen) einfach gar nicht vorhaben, sich an Gesetze zu halten?

Years ago, a co-worker described #LinkedIn to me as 'Facebook, but for grown-ups'.
It sort-of was at the time, but that was a long time ago. Facebook for adults today is of course Facebook itself.
Today, LinkedIn in my experience is mainly a source of spam from pimps (what another co-worker always called recruiters).

Even people on #LinkedIn are now slowly waking up and starting to embrace local compute more.
So the statement from Jeff Bezos about wanting to kill local compute is once more of the lines of "If everything was hopeless they wouldn't have to try to discourage us so hard".
(Also local compute also includes any cloud that isn't theirs of course)

The simple rule is that anyone with enough time to keep their LinkedIn account full of this bullshit, is focusing on self promotion, not self learning or actually doing the job. #TIL that #LinkedIn is explicitly intended for professional networking in general, not primarily for finding a job or an employee. This helps me understand why I, as a #Humanities scholar, mostly find the the site useless. I don't need to network with middle management at squeegee factories and business consultancy firms. Their tone of false enthusiasm for pointless activities is deeply depressing. I'm only interested in the rare job ads of relevance to myself.
