People may ask how my background in English Language Teaching (ELT) connects to non-profit work.
The answer: more than you might think!
In ELT, I’ve spent years helping learners of all levels understand complex ideas, in language that’s clear, inclusive and culturally sensitive.
Those same skills are exactly what non-profits need to communicate effectively with donors, volunteers, communities and stakeholders.
Here’s what my ELT experience brings to non-profit editing:
Clarity: Making complex information accessible to diverse audiences
Inclusive language: Representing intersectional identities, particularly LGBTQIA+ communities
Audience focus: Understanding who you’re speaking to and tailoring tone and content accordingly
Ethics and empathy: Crafting content that is responsible, respectful and impactful
In short, helping English learners navigate the world equips me to help non-profits communicate their mission clearly and inclusively.

Was machte eine gute Alternative zu #LinkedIn aus? https://european-alternatives.eu/de/alternativen-zu/linkedin verlinkt als ausschließliche Alternative auf #xing Ich denke es lohnte sich, mal ganz neu konzeptionell darüber nachzudenken, was OpenBC, XING und LinkedIn eigentlich mal sein wollten, gewesen sind oder hätten sein können. Es wäre auch interessant die Frage zu diskutieren, was an XING und LinkedIn aktuell überhaupt für durchschnittliche Nutzer*innen funktioniert und was also an anderer Stelle vorausgesetzt werden wird.

Acabo de cerrar mi cuenta que todavía tenía en LinkedIn. No la he usado desde mucho, y nunca me ha servido para nada, de verdad.
Como LinkedIn es una empresa privada y, además, hay problemas con la privacidad de datos y el uso de tu información por la IA, he decidido cerrar la cuenta. No tiene sentido estar pero no estar.
Me quedo en el Fediverso. No necesito más.
