I noticed that running the Mono version of Godot from Visual Studio (which is the only way to hit breakpoints) doesn't show the log outputs anywhere.
So I added a developer console that you can open with the tilde key, so you can look at the logs from within the game.
In doing so, I learned that Godot has a textbox control that supports rich formatting using... drumroll... BBCode!
Not only was this hugely nostalgic, it was also very practical.

Speed of Light Prototype, Day 4/7 : ProcGen is progressing !
I can now generate entire solar systems, using boids mechanisms for planets placement (this is the wiggly part that happens). Still not perfect, but a good start !
New build out tommorow once I figured how to deal with multiples gravity source better. Having more than a few sources of gravity can make the comet movement pretty erratic and frankly quite random, which isn't the desired outcome.

I thought about making a game inspired by Sean O'Conner's 1995 game "Slay" (way better than its 2016 remake) ever since I was made aware of it a few years back, but gave up after realizing I had to both learn hex coordinates and how to program an AI to play against.
After watching 3 tutorials and reading the documentation on 1 afternoon, I am fairly certain I know everything I wanted to know about hex grids in #godot .
Time to make my first game!
