I get it that everyone here in the Fedi is basically volunteering, but Pinafore, now Enafore, and all the other good front ends to Mastodon have stopped updating. I know #Phanpy is good for sighted folks. Not us. If the web UI were better, I wouldn't have a problem with this. #Fediverse

It's a double whammy for younger people because the Corporate Internet has killed off most genuine online communities and car dependency has killed off most real world communities. While online communities were never a replacement for real world communities, the fact that they barely exist online anymore, only highlights how private cars have killed off real world communities.
Our streets were once places where children played, where people bumped into each other, where people threw parties and traded with each other. Streets now are simply places for cars to be stored or for people to rush from one place to another in their metal boxes without ever meeting anyone.
We need to reclaim our streets, build more non commercial third places, get off Corporate Social Media and build real online communities again.
