I think there is a huge non-technical flaw in the architecture of the fediverse.
The fediverse, collectively, is big and is intended to be big.
With Big Comes Responsibility.
But the long tail of instances are medium and small when it comes to resources.
In particular resourcing the ability to moderate well, or to have people with skills to moderate well.
So the fediverse becomes big, but with the moderation maturity of an after-school linux meetup.

It is utterly mind numbing to think that out of 38,063 nodes currently this node is aware of with an average of 11,958,766 active users within the last month, the pleas for help go unanswered, heck if only 1/4 of those users gave just $1.50 all within a 24hr period, I could obtain my forever home, never go hungry and be able to have a viable path to help others in need as well, the #fediverse may be vast and growing, but the humanity has yet to follow;

So, I have found some stuff on the Revolt Beta Software. You can actually change nicknames and add roles.
It's still in works from what I have heard. Also Revolt App on the andriod doesn't have a notications yet but Revolt team is working on it.
