I wonder what instance of #Mastodon would be the best one for hosting an account dedicated to an #ESA project, just for publishing news and information in the #fediverse in a fair way, possibly with a decent possibility of attracting interested parties and creating a network. Stability for the next four or more years is a must.

I used to think what will kill the fedivarse is the persistent and wilful ignorance of user experience.
But over the last 2 years I've grown to think it will be the admins themselves who kill it.
In summary, what's worse
1. a huge centralised platform subject to some societal pressure to moderate well
2. a thousand tiny instances run by those with no interes, capability nor resources to moderate well, with no single instance big enough to attract societal pressure

We've seen instances moderate in favour of supremacists because the admin is a toxically insecure tech-bro too.
We've observed multiple instances allow themselves to be manipulated into crushing anti-genocide voices -- This too is naive immaturity.
Ask yourself what keeps black and brown people away from mastodon? Geographically why is its mostly European and North American?
What's the solution?
Shared moderation? Transparency standards for moderation?
