@scripting hi. re: #RSS, are there servers that serve feeds aggregating specific hashtags (also, excluding specific hashtags). Something I'd like to do on the #Fediverse is "follow" but like "all posts on #Lisp but not any #French ones".

😜 😂

@WorldTravelerAll7 @DarthAstrius It depends. Not every company has nefarious or shady intentions - similar as with open source projects. Generally, #fediverse is aimed at being open and safe space, so this does not exclude instances run by companies. However, if the company uses shady practices or tries to spam and brings no value to people, then of course the best idea is to mute/block that company which can be done on instance-level or by each user individually.
There are safeguards that can protect people in fediverse and they can be used when necessary.
So, the question is if the specific company can be trusted. Here, people have many different factors that are important for them to determine whether it's ok or not to use something owned by a company, community-driven or run by individual. For this part, I would leave the final decision to each person.

There is nothing quite as lame, lazy, and disrespectful as people posting a screenshot of their own Twitter post on Mastodon, rather than copy and pasting it to write a Mastodon post.
@Gargron do I remember correctly #Mastodon hired an #UX expert ?
I cannot find information about that process while I invite people to join the #Fediverse and see them hit the usability wall and turn away.
Is there a blog from the UX dept to know what's cooking ?
