STAR WARS: THE SOFT EMPIRE
Let's try some metaphors DRAFT A long time ago, in a network not so far away… The internet was once alive with wild diversity. Countless small worlds of the #openweb - linked by fragile trust, shared roots, and messy, beautiful collaboration. The #FOSS Federation of Commons was rising… until the Soft Empire came. They did not come with star destroyers or stormtroopers. They came with funding proposals, frameworks, and friendly smiles. Their weapons were not lasers but language, phrases […]https://hamishcampbell.com/star-wars-the-soft-empire/
Randnotiz
Eine Randnotiz wir doch alle sind
bei den besessenen Autoren
die trunken von Geld und Macht
uns aller Schicksal schreiben

@GaviaImmer Hi & welcome.
You appear to already be ahead of the curve: 1) figured out hashtags are a big part of the #fediverse a *lot* quicker than I did & 2) taking less than 3 years to post an intro..
You're maybe already aware of these, but I'd point you to @FediTips to help get to grips with this place & https://fedi.directory/ as a possible resource to try & find your peeps
Was at today's #fediday presentations and learned that for traditional media, social media is seen as promotion channels for their primary content rather than interactive communication platforms. Therefore, the #fediverse promoters inside struggle to build an understandable narrative case for federation and democratization.
Didn't see an opportunity to ask: How could the fediverse look like in 100 years if everything goes well?
