Guten Morgen,
das Grimme-Gremium hat sich entschieden, Eugen als "natürliche Person" zu nominieren, stellvertretend für "das FediVerse", weil die Medien halt nunmal Mastodon am Häufigsten erwähnen und oftmals fälschlicherweise mit dem FediVerse gleichsetzen.
Bei aller mE nach berechtigten Kritik, sehe ich das so:
Dann dürften sie konsequenterweise "das FediVerse" gar nicht nominieren/auszeichnen.
Warum?
Für die Nominierung braucht es eine "natürliche Person", die den Preis persönlich entgegen nimmt und in Händen halten kann.
WhatsApp, Greenpeace, der LSVD haben CEOs und Vorstände, bei denen diese natürliche Person problemlos identifiziert und eingeladen werden kann.
Wer sollte das aber bei ~150 einzelnen Fedi-Diensten, zehntausenden separaten Servern/Instanzen sein?
Dass Eugen stellvertretend als Entwickler und Geschäftsführer nominiert wurde, ist aus meiner Sicht verständlich.
Und sollte @Gargron ausgezeichnet werden, hoffe ich, dass er die Größe hat, zu sagen:
"Ich freue mich, diesen Preis stellvertretend für das FediVerse entgegen nehmen zu dürfen, allerdings bin ich nur einer von tausenden Entwickler:innen, die das FediVerse, als föderiertes Netzwerk überhaupt erst möglich machen.
Daher gilt ihnen auch mein ausdrücklicher Dank.

Because of recent, er, discussions, let repeat me it once more time for those in the back:
Being an ally to a marginalized group means to LISTEN, first and foremost. Do NOT propose solutions in advance of actual data. People from marginalized groups have almost certainly thought about their marginalization in oppressive spaces (which, yes, can include the #Fediverse ) longer and harder than you have, and thus your proposed solution is likely something that they have already discussed at length.
So listen to them. And when they are done talking, your reaction should not be:
"Here is how to fix your problems!"
but
"How can I help?"
